The Next Generation of Energy Drinks
Milk Thistle
Milk thistle has been used medicinally for over 2,000 years, most commonly for the treatment of liver and gallbladder disorders. It has been reported to have protective effects on the liver and to greatly improve its function. Liver Cirrhosis Benefits: Multiple studies from Europe suggest benefits of oral milk thistle for cirrhosis. In experiments up to five years long, milk thistle has improved liver function and decreased the number of deaths that occur in cirrhotic patients. It has also been reported to help reduce the severity of hangovers.
Prickly Pear Cactus
The anti-hangover effect of Prickly Pear was discovered accidentally by scuba divers who were testing the fruit for its effect on fatigue and physical stress associated with diving. The "hangover-helper" idea, according to the story, came from divers who, feeling energized instead of fatigued after diving, decided to celebrate by imbibing heavily. To their surprise the following morning, the divers felt great and quickly spread the news of Prickly Pear’s hangover-prevention effect, leading scientists to conduct formal investigations.
Zeolite
Zeolite is a powerful mineral from volcanic rock formed from volcanic ash and sea salt over millions of years. This mineral has a porous structure that can accommodate a wide variety of cations, These positive ions are rather loosely held and can readily be exchanged for others in a contact solution. A three-dimensional framework produces net negative charge that traps environmental pollutants and is balanced by the exchangeable cations Calcium, Magnesuim, Phosphate. These caves, also called channels, are openings where minerals and heavy metals can bind to. Once they are bound they are flushed out naturally. Zeolite has been used for several years now as an additive to feed for cows, pigs, horses and chickens. It absorbs toxins in the feed that are created by molds and microscopic parasites and has enhanced food absorption by these animals.
